What is Caregiver Resources?

Family caregivers are the backbone of the long-term care system, yet they often go without the support, education, and resources they need. Patient Path Hub's caregiver resource coordination helps family caregivers find support groups, educational workshops, respite programs, financial assistance, and practical tools to manage the demands of caregiving.

California has one of the nation's most robust caregiver support networks through its Caregiver Resource Centers and community programs. We help caregivers navigate these resources, understand their rights, and access programs designed specifically for their well-being.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about caregiver resources coordination through Patient Path Hub.

What are California's Caregiver Resource Centers?

California has 11 non-profit Caregiver Resource Centers (CRCs) that provide free or low-cost services to family caregivers: information, care planning, counseling, respite, support groups, education, and limited financial assistance. We help connect you to your local CRC.

Can I get paid for being a family caregiver in California?

Yes, through several programs: In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) pays family caregivers for Medi-Cal eligible recipients; the Paid Family Leave program provides partial wage replacement for up to 8 weeks; and some VA programs compensate family caregivers of veterans.

What if I'm completely burned out?

Caregiver burnout is real and serious. Call us — we can help arrange immediate respite care, connect you with a counselor, and help you build a sustainable care plan. You can't pour from an empty cup, and you don't have to do this alone.

Are there resources specifically for dementia caregivers?

Yes. The Alzheimer's Association offers a 24/7 helpline (800-272-3900), support groups, and education programs. California's CRCs also have dementia-specific programs. We connect caregivers to all these resources.

Do you offer resources in languages other than English?

Yes. Many CRC programs offer services in Spanish, Chinese, Tagalog, Vietnamese, Korean, and other languages. We work to match caregivers with linguistically and culturally appropriate resources.
